Tailoring Human Biology to Your Homeschool Method

Created by a Homeschool Mom

As a homeschool mom herself, Dr. Robin is passionate about creating a program that caters to the diverse needs of homeschooling families. She took the best from each homeschool method and put them together to create what you see today.  Whether you follow a structured curriculum or embrace a more flexible approach, our program was designed to work for real homeschool families!

Let’s see how Dr. Robin’s School can be used with a variety of homeschool methods:

Unschooling

While unschooling emphasizes child-led learning, there may be times when your child expresses an interest in human biology. Our program can provide a springboard for independent exploration. The engaging videos and interactive activities spark curiosity, allowing your child to delve deeper at their own pace.

Project Based Learning

Is your child a hands-on learner who thrives on projects? Dr. Robin is, too!  (Yes, we mean Dr. Robin herself…after all, this whole program is one giant project!)  The lessons are designed to get kids thinking, which allows them to go far beyond learning facts into asking questions and creating projects.  Stuck on a project?  Students can submit questions to Dr. Robin within the student dashboard or parents can schedule a time to meet with Nurse Jill (who is a registered nurse and used the curriculum with her own family).

Classical Education

Classical education emphasizes analytical thinking, which aligns perfectly with the program’s focus on scientific reasoning. In live sessions, Dr. Robin uses the Socratic method extensively.  Even in the recorded lessons, she encourages students to question, analyze, and draw conclusions from the information presented.  Knowledge Check Up is a live opportunity for students to review lessons with Nurse Jill and then ask Dr. Robin all their questions.  Students are also able to submit their questions directly to Dr. Robin within the curriculum.

Charlotte Mason

Living books are a cornerstone of the Charlotte Mason approach. We firmly believe that living books are essential to understanding medical problems and disability.   Beyond Biology Book Club focuses on middle grade novels in which the main character is living with a medical condition or disability.  Students experience that what we’re learning impacts real people with interesting stories. This fosters a greater sense of connection to others.

Road Schooling

Hitting the road doesn’t have to mean hitting the pause button on learning! The flexible pacing and online format of our program makes it perfect for on-the-go education. Take human biology exploration anywhere in the world.

Tech Schooling

Looking for engaging STEM resources? We’ve got you covered! Our curriculum integrates videos, interactive quizzes, and other online resources, aligning with the tech-focused approach of many homeschool families. Additionally, our gamified Quizlet quizzes add a fun element to learning.

Unit Study

Unit studies delve deeply into a specific theme. Our program can be a valuable asset for your human biology unit. Parents can subscribe month-to-month, allowing you to customize the learning experience to fit the length of your unit, whether it focuses on the human body, health, medical conditions, or the impact of lifestyle choices.
