The most important question in all of LifePath isn’t “what does this body part do.” It’s the one at the end of every single body system: now that you understand this — what are you going to do with it?
That’s the Life Application question. There’s one in each module and it’s where all the anatomy stops being schoolwork and turns into how a kid treats their own body, and how they show up for somebody else’s. You can choose what’s appropriate for your child. A sentence? A paragraph? An essay?
In the senses unit, the question asks a kid to think about how they’ll protect their own hearing and their own eyesight — the small daily choices that don’t feel like they matter until, one day, they really do. Turning the music down. Wearing the sunglasses. Wearing ear protection and eye protection when needed. Not because a parent said so — because they understand what’s at stake now.
But the ultimately, LifePath One Body for Life reaches further than a kid’s own body. Understanding can replace fear, awkwardness, or judgement.
A kid who understands the body meets a classmate with a hearing aid or a cochlear implant, a grandparent with a hard diagnosis, a friend who’s in the hospital — and instead of looking away, judging, or being afraid, they get curious. They can sit with someone and be present. Illness or disability stops being this frightening, unknowable thing, and becomes something they understand well enough to be kind about. And heaven forbid they ever get bad news themselves, but if the do, they will have the understanding to ask better questions and make better decisions.
There’s one more video from the curated video library I shared with you in the preview classroom and that’s one in which people with cochlear implants talk about their experiences, show us their implants, and help kids become more comfortable with someone who may be different from them.
So now you’ve seen all four types of lessons— Color, Write, Do, and Apply. Plus a small sample of the many videos in the curated video library.
That’s the way LifePath teaches every body system. You just watched this work through just four lessons but in the program there are over 60. Your kid has a whole body, and a whole life, ahead of them. Tomorrow I’ll show you what it looks like to give them an understanding of all of it.
You just learned about all four lesson types. Your kid has a whole body and a whole life ahead of them, and more than sixty lessons still to go. This is where you decide to give them all of it.
LifePath: One Body for Life is a physician-led curriculum in the human body, built for kids and teens ages 8 to 18. Over sixty video lessons, taught by me, covering every major body system plus nutrition and the daily choices that run all of it. I do the teaching so you don’t have to.
I’m Dr. Robin. I practiced as a family physician and set up my practice so I could spend a full hour with each patient, because teaching was always my favorite part of the visit.
When the pandemic started and I needed to be home for my two autistic kids, I sold my practice and started teaching online, and I discovered I loved it even more than medicine.
Since 2020 I’ve taught over 3,500 kids and teens worldwide, and I built LifePath the way I practiced medicine: starting with what people actually need to know about their own bodies. It’s what I wish existed for every kid, and what I wish had existed for every adult when they were younger.
Why the coloring is the part that makes anatomy stick, not the fluffy filler, using the How We Make Speech lesson and a beatboxer MRI.
Why a sunburn at nine can still matter at forty, and how the Write lessons turn a fact into a choice a kid actually makes.
The lesson a kid feels in their own chest, measuring their own heart rate before and after a real adrenaline burst.
