MedPath Level 1, Essentials of Human Health: Real Science for Curious Kids

Hi friends—it’s Dr. Robin!

Let me tell you about one of those classic parenting moments that turns into a full-blown anatomy lesson.

That Time My Toddler Ate a Crayon

Yes, really. A bright purple one.

We discovered this curious dietary choice when it made a second appearance—in her diaper. And just like that, her big brother had a burning question:

“How did that go through her whole body and not just stay in her stomach forever?”

So we rinsed off the crayon (parenting is nothing if not resourceful), drew with it on some paper, and ended up having a whole conversation about digestion, what our bodies can and can’t break down, and why fiber works a bit like a sponge that cleans us out.

We also talked about choking hazards, safety, and the importance of keeping crayons far away from baby sisters.

And honestly? That moment—that curiosity—is exactly what MedPath Essentials of Human Health is designed to nurture.

What Is MedPath Essentials of Human Health?

This course is part of our MedPath series, designed for students who are ready to explore how their bodies work and how to care for them. It’s a late elementary science course that answers the kinds of questions kids are already asking:

  • Why do I have to brush my teeth?
  • Why does milk come out of my nose when I laugh?
  • How do germs make me sick?
  • Why do I get dizzy when I spin?

Whether your child is future-doctor passionate or just has a deep love of knowing stuff, this course meets them right where they are—with real science they can understand and apply.

Who It’s For

  • Kids around 8 to 11 years old
  • Students ready for late elementary-level science
  • Families looking for real, health-based science rooted in anatomy and biology
  • Curious learners—even the ones who say they “don’t like science”
  • Anyone beginning to wonder how we work

No special background or prerequisites required. Just curiosity.

How It Builds on What They Already Know

If your child has completed MedPath Foundations, they’ll notice something familiar—those same anatomy lessons show up here too.

But this time, they’re different.

In Essentials of Human Health, those anatomy lessons are paired with new physiology concepts. This helps kids connect structure with function—deepening their understanding and reinforcing key ideas as their brains mature.

It’s like revisiting a favorite storybook, but noticing new layers of meaning each time.

What’s Included

Each student gets:

  • The Anatomy Coloring Book (used across all levels)
  • A brand-new workbook designed to help them reflect, apply, and retain information
  • Short, guided video lessons
  • Auto-graded quizzes
  • Their own login to track lessons and progress
  • Summary sections in the coloring book for deeper learning

???? Each lesson includes that lesson’s coloring page or worksheet as a printable file.

And here’s a bonus:
If you sign up for the full-year subscription, we’ll send both the coloring book and workbook directly to your home—free.

Coming September 1st

Essentials of Human Health launches this fall, and we can’t wait to share it with your family.
