Dr. Robin Dickinson MD is a family physician, medical school faculty, and homeschooling mom. (She also is married and together with her husband has two kids, four cats, and one very cute dog, as you can see from the photo!)

Even with her education, she felt overwhelmed and frustrated when trying to teach science to her own children. To apply to medical school, she had an extensive university education in biology, chemistry, and physics. But she found numerous problems in the available options for her kids.
- Many didn’t teach real science
- Those that promised to teach real science often just tossed big words and concepts at kids without explaining
- All the experiments and demonstrations required more time to set up and clean up than actually do.
- And none of them solved the bigger problem…kids are arriving in high school unprepared.
Now we’re all benefiting from that frustration as she has creating a solution for all of us!
Dr. Robin created her science curriculum when she couldn’t find what she needed for her own kids.

Dr. Robin Dickinson, MD, is a family physician and a pioneer in early medical education. As the creator of Dr. Robin’s School, she offers an engaging and inclusive science curriculum for children, encouraging a love for medicine and an interest in caring for the human body from an early age. Her innovative teaching methods make complex medical concepts accessible to young students, fostering a new generation of diverse healthcare professionals.
With over a decade of experience in private practice and a background in medical education, Dr. Robin Dickinson has become a mentor and advocate for aspiring doctors. After working as a physician for the first few years out of her family medicine residency, she opened her private practice focusing on uninsured and underinsured families with parents who were neurodivergent or with significant childhood trauma. Dr. Robin founded the only free clinic in her city and was its first medical director. She is adjunct faculty and guest lecturer at Rocky Vista Medical School.
Dr. Robin also actively supports healthcare policy improvements, leveraging her personal experiences to drive change. Dr. Robin Dickinson’s commitment to diversity in medicine and her dedication to nurturing young minds make her a valuable asset in the field of medical education. The best part? I love that I can sit and listen and learn alongside my kids, that I don’t have to prepare for ANYTHING, and that I don’t even need to follow up with an experiment on my own.
