Accessing the student dashboard is a common point of confusion, but it’s actually quite simple! The key is understanding how the student login credentials are automatically created.
Here’s how to access the student dashboard:
- Log Out of the Parent Dashboard: If you’re currently logged into the parent dashboard, you must log out first. This is crucial!
- Use Student Login Credentials (Automatically Generated): You will log in at the same place you log in to the parent dashboard. However, you will use a “plus address” for the email address and password.
- Student Email Address: Rather than using a student’s real email address, we automatically create the student’s log-in credentials by adding “+student” to your parent email. For example, if your parent email is greatmom@gmail.com, the student’s email will be greatmom+student@gmail.com. Please do not change this email address. This is how our system recognizes the student account.
- Student Password: When your account was set up, the student’s password was automatically generated to be the same as their email address (greatmom+student@gmail.com in the above example). You can change the student password within the student’s account settings if you wish, but the email address must remain the same.
- Log In: Enter the student’s email address (parent email+student) and the student’s password (either the automatically generated one or one you have changed) and click “Log In.” You will then be taken to the student dashboard.
Why shouldn’t I change the student’s email address?
The student’s email address (parent email+student) is how our system identifies the student account. Changing this email will prevent your student from logging in.
Important Reminders:
- The student dashboard and parent dashboard are accessed using the same login page, but different login credentials.
- You must log out of the parent dashboard before logging into the student dashboard, and vice versa.
